Does It Offend You, Yeah?

STG Presents Does It Offend You, Yeah? & Kele (of Bloc Party at Chop Suey in Seattle on Thursday, September 16, 2010.

ABOUT Does It Offend You, Yeah?
As the album title has it, 'you have no idea what you're getting yourself into'. What does that mean? Does it confuse you, yeah? It shouldn't. It's fairly straightforward. The debut album by Reading-based four-piece Does It Offend You, Yeah? is a big, swaggering mash-up of Eighties-lovin', future-livin' techn-rock with fuck-off pop-bells on.

In the early days – 2006 – no one knew what the two upstart producers who founded DIOYY? looked like. Were they really two middle-aged blokes pulling rave-gurner faces in the studio?

THE APPLES IN STEREO

STG Presents The Apples in stereo at The Crocodile in Seattle on Tuesday, October 26, 2010.

In the charmed world of THE APPLES IN STEREO's ROBERT SCHNEIDER, music and mathematics are the principal creative outlets. Although these subjects are inextricably linked, New Magnetic Wonder represents the first time Schneider's imagination has seamlessly integrated them on an Apples album. New Magnetic Wonder marks the Apples' first release in five years, as well as their fifth official full-length album. The album also marks the first release on ELIJAH WOOD's newly formed label Simian Records (co-released by Yep Roc Records and co- distributed by Elephant 6/Redeye Distribution). Apples lead singer Robert Schneider met Wood at SXSW music festival in Austin, TX in 2003. As fate would have it, the Apples, who recently departed from their long-time label spinART, were looking for a new label at exactly the same time Wood was launching Simian Records.

Idlewild

STG Presents Idlewild at The Crocodile in Seattle on Saturday, November 20, 2010.

When Brit-pop was still in full-swing, Scottish rockers Idlewild were dropping out of art school and ingesting Fugazi, Superchunk "...and all those small bands on American indie-rock labels." A few gigs, a few seven inch singles and then in 1998 they released their Captain mini album via Steve Lamacq's Deceptivelabel (at the time home to Elastica) before signing to Food Records(then home to Blur). Then, when every new British band from Coldplay to Badly Drawn Boy trotted around with an acoustic guitar, they delivered their debut full-length of erratic punk rock, Hope Is Important.

The Airborne Toxic Event

STG Presents An Acoustic Evening with The Airborne Toxic Event, performing with the Calder Quartet at Town Hall in Seattle on Saturday, September 18, 2010.

"Poetry you can dance to...nothing short of amazing." The LA Times

"Absurdly rich with talent. Drums demand foot-stomping, viola is laced between indulgent guitar hooks, and the lyrics are just wry enough to tickle your nerd bone." The LA Weekly

"A blend of Brit rock sensibility and Southern California energy, the Airborne Toxic Event is what would happen if Morrissey and Franz Ferdinand shared a summer home." Spin.com

"I already loved them after the 3 song EP but the live performance helped me decide this is one of my favorite bands of 2007." John Richards, KEXP, Seattle

"Reviews of their live show have been stellar, those who have seen it find it hard to believe they are a new band." Inflight at Night
