It is a bit late notice but the Aeterno Elementum: A Heavy Metal Opera will be at the Broadway Performance Hall on Friday 11/4 and Saturday 11/5 with the show kicking off at 8:00 pm, tickets $25. If you are feeling a little dark, down and maybe even a tad violent than this music could be your anthem. The show features operatic performances (hence the name), knights, acrobats and fire breathers and it really is fun for everyone but maybe not the kids. Check it out if you were sad to see Halloween go.
If you need something to relax you after a heavy metal opera than check out Malcolm Goldstein at the Chapel Performance Space at Good Shepherd Center on Saturday November 6 at 8:00 or 10:00 pm. He is a legend in the violin world and his playing since the 1960s so if nothing else you can trust he has practiced enough to impress. Tickets are $5-$15 so if is perfect for an inexpensive night out.
Not 100% music related but still a good show to know about – John Hodgman will be promoting his new book at Town Hall. His website claims he will play La Vie En Rose on the Ukulele and whatever poor surprise guest is bribed into doing the show will sing along. The Seattle show is on Monday November 7th at 7:30 pm. It costs $25 but you get a free book (Hodgman’s to be specific).
If you need more time to plan ahead than set aside time on November 13th at 6:30 pm to head over to the Showbox and catch New Found Glory, Set Your Goals, The Wonder Years, Man Overboard and This Time Next Year.
Happy jamming!
