First and foremost –the Trans-Siberian Orchestra Winter Tour 2011 is coming to town and if the holiday season fills your heart with joy and happiness then kick it off with an epic show. Tickets might sell out so plan ahead! Show is on Saturday November 26th at 8:00 p.m.
Now let us focus on the week ahead in music in Seattle. If you want an out of the ordinary operatic experience (what is an ordinary opera experience though really?) then head to Benaroya Hall on Sunday November 13th at 10:00 a.m. and listen to, or join in, the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. The Seattle Symphony will also be featuring classics such as Bach, Mozart and Stravinsky on Friday November 18 at 8:00 p.m. as well and it is bound to be a great show.
Alternatively if you would rather combine music and literature then visit Daniels Recital Hall for A Celebration of Poetry in Jazz on Friday November 11th at 7:30 or 9:30 pm. Poets include Paul Hunter, Leanne Grabel and Emmet Wheatfall.
If you are feeling a little nostalgic consider checking out the Nite Wave (80s New wave) and Rewind (80s pop) show happening at the Showbox on November 18 at 8:00 pm. For midweek enjoyment support the Vera Project and for just $9-$11 you can catch Touche’ Amore’: Pianos Become the Teeth, Seahaven and The Loss on Thursday November 17th at 7:30.
Maybe this week you don’t really want to listen to music though and would rather make your own. If this is the case then get yourself down to Absolute Karaoke and sing your heart out.
