Take a break from holiday shopping and parties to relax and listen to some live music this week. There is plenty to see and listen to in Seattle in the week ahead of Christmas.
Start things off Friday December 17 at the Crocodile which is hosting The Fling with Yukon Blonde and special guests. The show starts at 8:00 p.m. and is for those twenty one years and older. In case you don’t already know – The Fling is an indie/rock band from Long Beach and is signed with record label Dangerbird Records. You can check them out ahead of time on their MySpace page.
If you listen to 107.9 then surely you know they are hosting their holiday concert, Jingle Bell Bash and the WaMu Theater. The show is on December 18th at 5:00 p.m. so all those preteens can still get to bed at a reasonable hour. All jokes aside the lineup is extensive with OneRepublic, Cobra Starship, Hot Chelle Rae, Tinie Tempah and the list goes on.
For you midweek music hit Brian Setzer’s Rockabilloy Riot! will be playing at the Showbox at the Market on Thursday December 22nd. Show starts at 7:00 pm and will also include Slim Jim Phantom. Mr. Setzer comes from Massapequa, New York and has been playing since the eighties. He started with a rock revival band but switched to his current gig, jazz-oriented big band, in the 1990s. He is a writer, guitar player and can sing as well so if you are looking for some music during the week leading up to Santa’s visit then check him out.
