Million Dollar NileMillion Dollar Nile - Million Dollar Nile started like many great love affairs do - as "just friends." Dan invited his old schoolmate Matt and his neighbor Nicole to get together weekly and play bluegrass covers. The three musicians bonded over their common love of Nickel Creek, Bob Dylan, Gillian Welch, Old Crow Medicine Show, and basically anything that could be played with stringed instruments and three-part harmony. A few months later they began writing songs, and each brought their unique flavor to songwriting: Dan's catchy melodies, Nicole's poetic lyrics, and Matt's ability to capture any genre from rasta-baltic to sea shanties. They discovered a common theme in their passion for environmental issues, and now write songs about everything from energy conservation to thinking your phone is ringing in your pocket when it's not.

Betsy OlsonBetsy Olson - grew up in Billings, Montana. For years as a kid, she woke up to her mom and dad ringing in Saturday and Sunday morning with anything from the Beatles' "White Album" to Led Zeppelin's "Physical Graffiti." After several years of classical piano training, she picked up the guitar, joined a band in college and got a taste for being on stage. She moved to Seattle in 2001, hit the open mic circuit and began playing solo shows. In the summer of 2004, Betsy took a break from playing solo and played bass and keyboards for local band, Banner Barbados. After Banner Barbados ceased to exist in 2005, she began to attack her solo career with more ambition. Betsy has since worked with rhythm sections and has recently played Seattle hotspots like The Tractor Tavern, Sunset Tavern, Neumos and The High Dive.

Etherin WrightEtherin Wright - is a rock band from Seattle, WA. Formed in August of 2008, the group crafts music in the tradition of great song oriented rock and roll. They enjoy listening to and are inspired by artists like The Beatles, Wilco, Led Zeppelin, Elliott Smith, The Doors, and Radiohead amongst a myriad of others. The band spends their time in a dark and unfinished attic above a car repair shop. Although they all have a fondness for heat, they are forced to abstain because it blows out the power switch feeding their instruments. For four months, they have patiently sat in the attic, writing, playing, and preparing.

John Wesley HardingJohn Wesley Harding - Wesley Stace was born in Hastings, Sussex in 1965, and educated at The King's School, Canterbury, and Jesus College, Cambridge. Under the name, John Wesley Harding, he has released 15 albums, ranging from traditional folk to full on pop music. His most recent pop release WHO WAS CHANGED AND WHO WAS DEAD (2009), recorded with The Minus Five, was a critical smash, garnering considerable airplay: the album is "terrifically catchy" (NEW YORKER), while Harding is "hyper-aware, expertly tweaking the lyricist's game at every turn" (LOS ANGELES TIMES), with "lyrics that dazzle" (WALL STREET JOURNAL).

SatyriconSatyricon - These days it seems that even the field of extreme metal - which by definition should be destroying boundaries instead of creating new ones - has become saturated with sub-genres, where minimal stylistic differences turn into criteria for what's hot and what's not. And stylistic in this sense doesn't even stop with music; it's as much about fashion, image and appearance. Norway's Satyricon are a rare exception to this norm – they never cared for trends, for the latest fashion in how one is supposed to present oneself and they always abhorred the tried and tested genre stereotypes. The result is a notable career, spanning eight albums that always put the music first, often as a surprise and challenge to the listener, which creates, we should all agree, a deeper satisfaction than any devotion to set formulas.

Vile Display of HumanityVile Display of Humanity - is a band whose sound is old and new at the same time, like a 2-headed snake eating itself alive. It can’t be, but it is. Fast forward two millennia, when Aubele is swiping pages from Ovid’s playbook, by way of smoky tango bars and the sultry heyday of Mexican boleros in the 1940s, and falling hard into the acoustic yet lush Amatoria.

Born in the states but raised in Israel, she spent endless hours playing in the echoing sound of the bomb shelter just outside the family’s house on the outskirts of Tel Aviv. Sawyer Whalen and Ty Vanherweg were introduced to each other through Junior League Football when they played on the same Woodinville Falcons team. Their fathers, while watching practice one day, got to talking about their 12 year old sons’ talents. Sawyer had been playing several instruments from an early age and writing / recording since he was 6. Tyler had been taking piano lessons from the age of 7, guitar and music theory at 10, and writing songs at 11. Their dads agreed the two should get together, and soon Ty and Sawyer began jamming and writing songs. The result was a 3 piece band (the third piece being a drum machine) called “Yeah for Diversity”.

Burning of IBurning of I - got their start in early 2004, when guitarist Jacob collaborated together with drummer Tory. This was where the two of them began working out some of the ideas that Jacob had begun to write. Bassist Jesse, was invited to join in and add what he could several months after the inception. The final piece, Matt was added to the mix later that year, to bring the final element of what then became Burning of I. Almost a year of work was placed into the project, before it was unleashed on the masses. Where everyone gets to unleash, while playing to unsuspecting crowds of people... That next summer Burning of I went into the studio to record their first release, titled 'A Small Little Shack In A Big Wet Messy Nothing'. Burning of I worked diligently in support of this newly released EP, performing at venues all over the Seattle area and abroad.

Living ColourLiving Colour - During the 1980s, rock had become completely segregated and predictable; the opposite of the late '60s/early '70s, when such musically and ethnically varied artists as Jimi Hendrix, Sly & the Family Stone, and Santana ruled the Earth. But bands such as New York's Living Colour helped break down the doors by the end of the '80s, leading to a much more open-minded musical landscape that would eventually pave the way for future bands (Rage Against the Machine, Sevendust, etc.).
